Wigan Warriors CEO Kris Radlinski Backs Leigh Leopards for Late Playoff Push

In a bold prediction, Wigan Warriors CEO Kris Radlinski has tipped the Leigh Leopards to make a late charge into the Super League playoffs, selecting the neighbouring club as a dark horse contender.

Leigh Leopards currently sit in ninth place with nine points after twelve games, seven points behind the playoff spots. However, Radlinski believes Adrian Lam’s side has the potential to turn things around, especially with a game in hand that was postponed earlier in the season.

“It really is tight at the top,” Radlinski said on The Sportsman YouTube channel. “Leigh have not been far off all season. They’ve lost a couple of games by a few points, they’re getting some players back. I almost think, if I was Adrian Lam, I know he’s committed his future, I’ll be saying, ‘Let’s finish this little period of our success together’, and generating this spirit within the group.”

Radlinski’s confidence in the Leigh Leopards stems from their recent performances and the impending return of key players like Gaz O’Brien and Matty Davis. The Wigan chief believes that if Leigh can overcome the challenge of playing three games in ten days, they have a real chance of upsetting the likes of table-toppers Catalans Dragons and securing a spot in the top six.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Leigh turned Catalans over at the weekend and they have a really good run at the playoffs,” Radlinski added. “They’re not far away, them guys.”

While former Sky Sports pundit Eddie Hemmings expressed skepticism about Leigh’s prospects, citing the Catalans’ home advantage, Radlinski remains convinced that the Leopards have what it takes to defy the odds and make a late push for the playoffs.
