Wigan Warriors Captain Liam Farrell to Reach 400th Career Appearance Milestone
Wigan Warriors captain Liam Farrell is set to achieve a remarkable career milestone this Saturday as he takes the field against Leeds Rhinos, marking his 400th professional appearance. The 34-year-old born-and-bred Wiganer has been lauded by his coach, Matt Peet, ahead of this historic occasion.
Farrell, who came through the Warriors’ academy, made his senior debut for the club on April 5, 2010, scoring a try in the process. Prior to that, he had also made six appearances on loan for Widnes Vikings in the Championship. Over the past 14 years, the versatile forward has remained loyal to his hometown club, never donning the shirt of any other team.
Of his 400 career appearances, 375 have been in the famous cherry and white of Wigan, with the remaining coming for Widnes, England Knights, and the England national team. His remarkable commitment and service to the Warriors have seen him become a true stalwart at the Brick Community Stadium.

Warriors boss and fellow Wiganer Matt Peet has heaped praise on his captain, highlighting Farrell’s development as a leader and his unwavering commitment to the team. With the retirement of veteran Tommy Leuluai, Peet has entrusted the captaincy to Farrell, a testament to the trust and respect he has earned within the Wigan squad.
