The Masters Rugby League season is in full flow, marked by a recent festival and Match Officials course hosted by the Brixton Bulls. The event, which took place within the M25 area, saw over 100 players from eight different teams in attendance, some traveling as far as Cardiff and Doncaster to participate.

The festival was the first of its kind in the region and was made even more special by the presence of London Broncos’ own Iliess Macani, who took time out of his pre-match preparations to lend his support and help with the day’s activities. The enthusiasm for the Match Officials course was also palpable, with 13 new referees now available to officiate scheduled fixtures in the south.

Doncaster Toll Bar Named Masters Team of the Day

Doncaster Toll Bar was named the Masters Team of the Day, recognized for their exceptional commitment to attending the South Festival and their role in introducing many new players to the sport, showcasing the true spirit of Masters Rugby League.

“Brixton Bulls have been excellent in their growth of Masters Rugby League over the last two years, and this was recognized in my awarding them the honour of hosting this year’s festival – they did not disappoint,” said Adie Smith, the Masters South Representative.

The representative also extended his gratitude to the London Broncos for allowing Iliess Macani to support the event, noting that the signed Broncos shirt auctioned off on the day will contribute to the ongoing development of Masters Rugby League in the south.
