Shaun Wane to Lead England for Mid-Season Test against France in Toulouse
England’s men’s and women’s rugby league teams are set to face off against France in a highly anticipated double-header at the Stade Ernest-Wallon in Toulouse next Saturday, June 29. Coach Shaun Wane will announce his traveling squad on Monday afternoon, as the French squad led by Laurent Frayssinous is also expected to be named early next week.
The match will feature a strong contingent of players from the Catalans Dragons, who have been in fine form in the Super League this season. Key figures like Arthur Mourgue, Fouad Yaha, Arthur Romano, and Theo Fages are expected to feature for the French side, aiming to avenge last year’s mid-season defeat to England in Warrington.
“Other notable inclusions in the potential French lineup are Mathieu Laguerre, Paul Marcon, Cesar Rouge, Julian Bousquet, and Ben Garcia, the current captain of both France and the Dragons.”
The match will be followed by a Championship clash between Toulouse Olympique and Featherstone Rovers.
With both teams looking to showcase their talent and test their preparations ahead of the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, rugby league enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting and hard-fought contest between the two neighboring nations in Toulouse.
