In the final match of the United Rugby Championship season, Scarlets ended their campaign on a high note, securing a 32-15 derby win over the Dragons at Cardiff City Stadium.

Kemsley Mathias, Dan Davis, and winger Tomi Lewis (2) all crossed the line for the victors, with flyhalf Sam Costelow and fullback Ioan Lloyd adding the extras from the kicking tee.

For the Dragons, Sio Tomkinson touched down twice, with Will Reed converting one of those scores and also slotting a penalty, as the Welsh side finished their season in 15th position.

“The win capped off a mixed campaign for Scarlets, who will be eager to build on this performance and mount a stronger challenge in next season’s United Rugby Championship. Meanwhile, the Dragons will be looking to regroup and improve their fortunes after a challenging season.”

Scarlets fielded a strong lineup, including the likes of seasoned scrumhalf Gareth Davies and powerful number eight Carwyn Tuipulotu, while the Dragons were led by captain Rhodri Williams and featured the dynamic back-row duo of Aaron Wainwright and Taine Basham.

The result, officiated by referee Craig Evans, saw Scarlets end their United Rugby Championship season on a positive note, securing bragging rights in the Welsh derby.
