Warrington Wolves Confident of Retaining Prized Prop Vaughan Despite NRL Interest
Warrington Wolves’ chief executive, Karl Fitzpatrick, has firmly stated that he expects influential prop Paul Vaughan to remain with the club for the 2025 season, despite speculation linking him to a potential move to the NRL’s Parramatta Eels.
Vaughan, who joined the Wolves at the start of the 2023 campaign, has been a standout performer at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the team’s lineup. However, reports have suggested that Parramatta have expressed interest in securing the 33-year-old’s services by requesting his release from the final year of his Warrington contract.
Despite the rumours, Fitzpatrick revealed that the Eels have not made any direct contact with the club or Vaughan’s agent regarding a potential transfer. “As things stand, he’s coming back here to play for us in 2025,” the Warrington chief executive asserted, emphasizing the importance of the experienced prop to the team’s plans for the upcoming rugby league season.
The Wolves’ squad for the 2025 season is largely in place, with the recent additions of Oli Leyland, Dan Russell, and Alfie Johnson bolstering their ranks.
