Wales Suffer Blow as Jac Morgan Ruled Out of Springboks Clash and Australia Tour
Wales Dealt Significant Injury Setback
Wales have been dealt a significant injury setback as flanker Jac Morgan has been ruled out of Saturday’s test match against South Africa and the upcoming summer tour to Australia.
The 22-year-old Morgan, who served as Wales’ World Cup co-captain with Dewi Lake last year, missed the Six Nations earlier this year due to a knee injury. He has now sustained a hamstring problem while playing for the Ospreys in the United Rugby Championship quarter-finals.
“With Morgan sidelined, Wales boss Warren Gatland will have to make do without a key figure as his side seeks their first win of 2024.”
Inexperienced Line-up for Wales
With Morgan sidelined, Gatland has named an inexperienced line-up, with uncapped Cardiff scrum-half Ellis Bevan set to start and three more potential debutants on the bench – Eddie James, Jacob Beetham, and Jacob Ratti, the latter of whom was only called up on Tuesday amid a second-row crisis.
- Cardiff flanker James Botham will start alongside Taine Plumtree and Aaron Wainwright in the back row.
- Liam Williams, who is based in Japan, returns to the back three.
The match will take place at Twickenham, as Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is unavailable due to a Taylor Swift concert.
