Veteran Scrum-Half Extends Harlequins Contract Ahead of 2024-25 Season
London, UK – July 1, 2023 – In a significant move for the Gallagher Premiership club, former England international Danny Care has signed a new one-year contract with Harlequins, extending his tenure with the team he has represented for 18 seasons.
Care, a 37-year-old rugby union stalwart, has etched his name in Harlequins’ history by making a remarkable 374 appearances for the club, the most by any player. The experienced scrum-half is also the only Harlequins player to have scored more than 100 tries in the famous Quarters jersey.
“This is my home, I love everything about it, the rugby we play, our amazing fans, and the memories we have made together,” Care expressed in an interview with the club’s official website. “It was an easy decision to sign the contract, we have a great group of lads who I love playing with, and we’re building something very special.”
Care’s illustrious career has seen him win multiple accolades with Harlequins, including the Premiership title in 2012 and 2021, as well as the Challenge Cup in 2011. The veteran also represented England with distinction, earning 101 caps over a 15-year international career and being part of Grand Slam success in the 2016 Six Nations.
