Salford Red Devils Return to Winning Ways with Decisive Victory Over London Broncos
Salford, 14th April 2024: Salford Red Devils secured their eighth win in 13 Super League games this season, defeating London Broncos 34-4 in a commanding home performance. The Red Devils showcased a clinical second-half display to secure the victory at the Salford Community Stadium.
Chris Hankinson, the Red Devils’ fullback, delivered a solid performance, looking assured under the high ball throughout the match. Ethan Ryan and Deon Cross also put in steady shifts on the wings for the home side.
The standout performers for Salford were Nene Macdonald and Tim Lafai. The Papua New Guinea international Macdonald scored a superb try in the 52nd minute, following a strong break from his centre partner Lafai. The Samoa international Lafai was a constant threat, making a fine break that led to Macdonald’s try and then scoring two tries of his own.
Chris Atkin delivered a strong display in the second half, showcasing his versatility, while Marc Sneyd orchestrated Salford’s attack, playing a pivotal role in numerous tries. Salford’s forwards, led by the likes of Brad Singleton, Joe Shorrocks, and Ollie Partington, provided the platform for the team’s attacking prowess.
Off the bench, Joe Mellor added zip and sharpness to the Red Devils’ attack, while Nathan Connell made his debut for the club, slotting in seamlessly.
The victory keeps Salford firmly in the hunt for a spot in the end-of-season play-offs, as they continue their push for a top-flight finish in the 2024 Super League campaign.
