Northampton Player Ratings: Saints March to Premiership Glory at Twickenham
In a pulsating Gallagher Premiership final at Twickenham, Northampton Saints came from behind to clinch a thrilling 25-21 victory over Bath and end their 10-year wait for the title. Playing in front of 81,699 fans, the Saints put on a spirited display to give the legendary Courtney Lawes a celebratory send-off before his move to Brive next season.
Despite being a man up after Bath’s Beno Obano saw red in the 22nd minute, Northampton struggled to pull away, letting the West Country side fight back to take the lead in the 67th minute. However, a 73rd-minute try from replacement Alex Mitchell and a late turnover sealed the victory for the Saints.
