Hull FC Bolster Squad with Loan Signing of Yusuf Aydin from Rivals Hull KR
In a Strategic Move, Hull FC Sign Turkish International Prop on Short-term Deal
In a strategic move to strengthen their lineup, Hull FC have confirmed the loan signing of Yusuf Aydin from their cross-town rivals Hull KR. The Turkish international prop joins the Black and Whites on a short-term deal, providing additional depth to the club’s forward options ahead of their Betfred Super League Round 9 fixture against Leeds Rhinos.
Aydin, who made his debut for Wakefield Trinity in 2020, has since amassed 50 senior appearances. Though he has only featured twice for the Robins this year, he managed seven appearances in 2023. The 23-year-old will now join the Hull FC first-team squad, injecting fresh talent and experience as the club navigates a challenging season.
This latest loan acquisition comes alongside the signings of Ed Chamberlain and Tom Briscoe from Leigh Leopards earlier this week. As the club’s new Director of Rugby, Richie Myler is tasked with overhauling the struggling Hull team and searching for a new head coach following the departure of Tony Smith.
Search for Permanent Coaching Solution Remains Ongoing
With Salford boss Paul Rowley rejecting a contract offer from the Airlie Birds, the search for a permanent coaching solution remains ongoing. In the meantime, the club will be led by interim coach Simon Grix as they prepare to face another underperforming side, the Leeds Rhinos, at the MKM Stadium on Sunday.
The loan signing of Yusuf Aydin, coupled with the recent additions of Chamberlain and Briscoe, underscores Hull FC’s commitment to strengthening their squad and positioning themselves for a turnaround in the Betfred Super League. Rugby league enthusiasts will no doubt be eager to see how these new acquisitions impact the team’s performance in the coming weeks.
