BBC Rugby Union: Coventry Bolster Squad with Scottish Signings
Coventry Rugby have added two promising Scottish backs to their roster ahead of the upcoming Championship season. Speedy winger Jake Henry joins the club on a season-long loan from Pro14 outfit Edinburgh, where he spent two years in the academy before joining the senior squad this past season. The 23-year-old has represented Scotland at the under-20 level and in rugby sevens, including a standout performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Coventry, where he scored a hat-trick.
Coventry have also acquired Australian-born fly-half Liam Richman, who previously played in the Super Six competition for Heriot’s in Scotland. The 26-year-old has experience with the Brumbies and in the Shute Shield in Australia before making the move to the UK. Richman can cover multiple positions in the backline and will provide valuable depth and goal-kicking ability to Coventry’s squad.
Coventry head coach Alex Rae is excited about the additions, noting that Henry’s dynamic style will complement the team’s pacy, attacking brand of rugby. Rae believes Richman’s diverse background and hunger to make an impact will be an asset as Coventry look to challenge at the top of the Championship.
