BBC Rugby Union: Cornwall’s U20 Players Honored for Championship Appearances

Following the recent match against Gloucestershire, the Cornwall RFU Council representative Alan Milliner MBE presented ties and caps to several Cornwall U20 rugby players in recognition of their achievements.

Launceston RC’s Jack Statton received his U20 County Cap, while players making their first U20 appearance were awarded their U20 tie. The recipients of the U20 tie were Idris Logan (Helston), Alex Watkins (Camborne School of Mines), and Robbie Paul (Redruth).

According to the Cornwall U20 Team Manager Colin Hatch, earning 7 county championship appearances entitles a player to receive a county cap.

This season, 4 players joined Falmouth’s Rowan Lawrence in being awarded their cap: Harvey Penhallurick (Falmouth), Wes Eddy (Pirates Ams), Vice-Captain Jack Statton (Launceston), and Captain Will Perkin (St Ives).

Two other players, Peter Harris (St Austell) and Fin Deavin (Falmouth), narrowly missed out on receiving their caps, having only played 6 games over the last 2 seasons.

The Cornwall RFU has congratulated all the players on their achievements and contributions to the U20 county team this season.
