Super League Club London Broncos Bolster Roster with Permanent Deal for French International Hooker

London, 11 May 2023 – In a strategic move to strengthen their squad, the London Broncos have secured the permanent signing of French international hooker Ugo Tison from fellow Super League club Catalans Dragons. The 22-year-old, who can also play as a half-back, initially joined the Broncos on a one-month loan deal in April but has now committed to a permanent contract for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Since arriving in the capital, Tison has made five appearances for the Broncos, including their recent 34-18 victory over Hull FC. This addition is expected to provide a significant boost to the Broncos’ lineup as they continue their push in the Super League table, currently level on points with Hull.

Loan Extension for Leigh Leopards Forward Jacob Jones

Meanwhile, the Broncos have also extended the loan of Leigh Leopards forward Jacob Jones for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old back-rower, who came through the junior system at Midlands Hurricanes before joining the Broncos’ academy, has made 10 appearances for the London club this season, starting eight of them.

“We thank Leigh Leopards for allowing Jacob to continue his development here in London,” a Broncos statement read.

Farewell to Harvey Makin

However, the Broncos have bid farewell to Harvey Makin, who has returned to his parent club Wigan Warriors following a loan spell with the London club, during which he appeared in six games. The young prop had also enjoyed a five-match loan stint in the Championship with Barrow Raiders this season.

“We’d like to thank Harvey for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future,” the Broncos statement added.

With the addition of Tison and the continued presence of Jones, the London Broncos will aim to build on their recent victory over Hull FC when they host Hull KR in the capital this Sunday, 3 pm kick-off, as they seek to establish a strong foothold in the Super League table.
