The largest crowd of the 2022 Championship season was recorded at the Leigh Sports Village, where 7,233 spectators watched Leigh Centurions secure their return to the Super League with a 44-22 triumph over Batley Bulldogs.
In 2021, Toulouse Olympique’s promotion to the Super League was celebrated by a crowd of 9,235 at the Stade Ernest Wallon, as they defeated Featherstone Rovers 34-12 in the Championship Grand Final.
The 2019 season saw the Toronto Wolfpack experiment, with their Round 12 game against Swinton Lions drawing a crowd of 9,562 at the Lamport Stadium, the highest attendance of the year. The previous season, Featherstone Rovers stunned the Wolfpack 30-12 in front of 8,217 fans, ending Toronto’s 18-match winning run in the Championship.
