Cornwall RLFC’s dynamic playmaker Cameron Brown has signed with Championship club Widnes Vikings for the upcoming 2025 campaign. The 24-year-old, who holds dual British and Australian citizenship, has spent the last two seasons with the League 1 outfit, showcasing his versatility by scoring 27 tries and kicking 47 goals in 37 appearances for the Choughs.

Widnes coach Allan Coleman is thrilled to have secured Brown’s signature, describing him as “a really exciting player with lots of pace” who can seamlessly transition between the halves and fullback roles. The Vikings boss acknowledged the fierce competition they faced to land the talented Australian, making their successful recruitment all the more satisfying.

“I’m over the moon to get his signature, we had to fight off a lot of clubs for him so I’m delighted he chose to join us for 2025,” said Coleman.

Brown, who previously played for Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup, was in scintillating form for Cornwall in 2024, crossing the line 13 times and contributing 41 goals in 20 games. The young playmaker expressed his enthusiasm about the move, citing Widnes’ impressive 2024 campaign and the club’s bright future as key factors in his decision.

“They had a great year in 2024 and the way Allan spoke to me, the club is heading in the right direction. There’s a lot to be excited about in the near future,” said Brown.

The up-and-coming star is eager to showcase his skills at a higher level and bring a “bit of spark” to the Widnes squad, pledging to “back myself and play what’s in front of me” as he embarks on the next chapter of his rugby league journey.
