Munster Overcome Ospreys 23-7 in BKT United Rugby Championship Quarter-final
In a closely contested BKT United Rugby Championship quarter-final, Munster defeated Ospreys 23-7 at Thomond Park in Limerick. Jack Crowley’s impressive kicking performance, which included 13 points, proved crucial as the defending champions booked their place in the home semi-final.
The match got off to a rapid start, with Simon Zebo and Keelan Giles exchanging early tries. Munster then took control, with Niall Scannell’s maul try and a Crowley penalty giving them a 17-7 half-time lead.
“In front of a crowd of 14,072, Crowley added two more penalties in the second half to seal the victory for Munster, who extended their winning streak in the league to 10 matches. They will now host either Glasgow Warriors or DHL Stormers in the semi-final next weekend.”
Despite a solid defensive display from Ospreys, Munster’s powerful maul and Crowley’s accurate kicking proved too much for the visitors. The Welsh side struggled to get out of their own half in the latter stages of the match, as Munster closed out the game comfortably.
The victory means Munster have secured a home semi-final in the BKT United Rugby Championship, as they continue their quest to defend their title. Damian de Allende’s impressive performances have earned him praise from his teammates, further boosting Munster’s confidence ahead of the crucial semi-final clash.
